Just in case you guys haven't heard, there was a huge storm in Philippines yesterday which caused major floods, especially in Manila and the nearby areas. Death Toll is currently 75. This is what CNN has to say about it. greyrook_22 posted about it in detail here.

I've done a small Friends Cut. I'd been meaning to do it for a while -- remove dead journals & people I don't really talk to. Also, this journal is now completely personal, and while there isn't anything illegal or incriminating on here, I don't feel comfortable friending just anyone anymore (paranoid vibes lately).

There's a handful of people on my f-list I don't know half as well as I'd like, so that will also hopefully change from now on.

Today I started reading Alan Bennett's The Uncommon Reader. It's quite a cute little book (emphasis on the 'little' part -- I picked it up to read barely an hour ago and I'm already halfway through it!). This paragraph in particular caught my attention:
